Marcia Ambler is one energetic Grandma! Marcia and her husband met in a conference room at the United Nations. They were both getting ready to go to Germany on a year long study aboard program in 1968. They fell “in like” during the boat ride over. However, during a dance on the boat, Arol did not ask Marcia to dance (because he was embarrassed he did not know how to dance) and so she shunned him for the rest of the journey. One night, while in Germany, Arol received a Dear Arol letter, Arol climbed into Marcia’s bedroom for therapy and the rest is history. They flew back to California to get married and then returned to Germany. They lived in Germany for 2 years and had a son. Their little family returned to Indiana where Arol received his BA in Computer Science. They moved to California. During this time, Marcia took computer classes so she could talk computers with her husband. She took so many classes she is sure she could have graduated with her own Computer Science degree. They have 2 boys and 2 girls. They are thrilled to have found a “cheap” house in Provo.
Marcia loves to ski, play basketball, swim, sail boats, play tennis, fish, ice skate, football and walk. She claims that she is not very good at these activities but loves being active with them. She and her husband recently joined Gold’s Gym and loves it! You can also find Marcia and Arol Square Danc’in up a storm.
She is currently busy with her 3 grandkids and being a fix it woman for her son’s house. She loves to cook, knit and crochet.
Marcia looks forward to being in the PP4th Ward for a long time!
